FAQs

Can I start the course as soon as I register?
Yes. As soon as you have completed the registration process you will receive an email with your log in information (check your “junk folder” if you do not receive this email message immediately).  You may begin training right away.  All of the course materials required are online.

Do I need to finish the course in one sitting?
No. The system will remember where you left off and you will start at that point the next time you login. You can take a break whenever you like and start again at any time.  You can also change computers.  Your account can be accessed from any computer that has an internet connection.

How long do I have to finish the course?
Online learning is self-paced.  On average, most participants will be able to complete Concussion Education in about half an hour.  There is no "time limit".  Take as much time as you need to learn the material.

Can I fail the course?
No. At the end of your course is a test.  You cannot complete your training and download/print your Certificate of Completion until you have shown that you understand the information by getting 100% on this test.  If you do not get 100%, you can review the information and re-take the test. The test is created using questions that are selected randomly from a large cache of options, so each test is unique.  You can fail the test but you cannot fail the course because there is no limit to the number of times you can re-test.

Why is there a cost for this training?
Concussion Education is a collaborative initiative between ThinkFirst Canada and Safe Communities Canada, two national not-for-profit organizations dedicated to injury prevention.  While every effort is made to keep the cost of this training as low as possible, there are ongoing operational costs which must be covered, including things like ensuring that content is updated regularly, providing technical support to users, responding to student feedback, updating and maintaining the website, etc. Revenue earned through the sale of courses is used to maintain and enhance the quality of the learning experience, help fund new curriculum and initiatives, and ensure that the offering is sustainable.
