ThinkFirst Concussion Education Online is a collaborative effort between ThinkFirst Canada and Safe Communities Canada, two national not-for-profit organizations dedicated to injury prevention. Concussion is an epidemic in youth sport. ThinkFirst and Safe Communities believe that concussion education is essential in order to protect the long-term health of young athletes.

Concussion Education Online offers comprehensive courses for everyone involved in youth sport - coaches and trainers, young players, and parents.  Each participant receives information presented from their perspective and focused on their role in protecting the health of young athletes.  Course content has been reviewed by the Concussion Education and Awareness Committee of ThinkFirst Canada, which includes neurosurgeons, researchers, and leaders in brain injury prevention.

Each course includes clear learning objectives, interactive exercises to reinforce key concepts, and mandatory testing to ensure knowledge retention.  Participants can receive technical support using Live Chat, Email, or Phone options and can provide feedback about their learning experience. 

Most participants can complete their training in less than 30 minutes.  Successful participants can download/print a Certificate of Completion.

Local sport groups provide access to training by enrolling at Concussion Education Online.  Enrolment is free and members of enrolled groups pay only $9.00 per course.

Provincial sport associations use the Concussion Education Training Management System which provides them with a customized training campus, branded with their name and logo.  Identified members access training through the customized campus without direct cost.  Administrators approve training requests from local clubs electronically.  Automated record keeping tracks individual and club usage and stores training records, allowing associations to easily and efficiently meet training mandates and compliance requirements.
